Ex-Cult

Da war Rock The Cam in London und konnte im The Lexington die Memphis Band Ex-Cult sehen, ach wie schön. Ex-Cult haben Platten draußen auf Goner Records und In The Red, das ist die musikalische Richtung: Garagenpunk mit Hardcore Touch.
Chris Shaw und Band kamen auf die Bühne und ab ging der wilde Ritt. Ohne Sattel natürlich und ratz fatz in den Dreck (oder so ähnlich). Heftiger intensiver Auftritt, auch wenn etwas kurz, gut war es!

I was happy to catch the Memphis band Ex-Cult in London at The Lexington and hey who are the Ex-Cult? Guess in US there is more fuzz about them than here in Europe (hey UK, still Europe!)
Records are out on Goner Records and In The Red and yes, it is this kind of music and I like it.
Chris Shaw and the rest of the Ex-Cult gang came on stage and took it over. In a fast garage style they came over the crowd and over! Although a bit short, it was a nice one.

Pink Grip

Auf einem London Trip hatte ich die Freude ein Konzertbesuch im The Lexington zu machen. Als Vorband zu Ex-Cult konnte ich dort Pink Grip live sehen. Erinnert mich an früher: Schreddelkonzerte zu Jugendtreffzeiten.
Musik ist hart und geht aggressiv ab, Gesang passt dazu, doch die Bühnenshow ist leider arg Schulband-mäßig. Sängerin irgendwie null souverän, scheint nicht so richtig zu wissen was Sie mit sich anfangen soll, zwischen den Liedern am Bier nuckelnd sonst eher verloren. Ich weiß nicht der wievielte Auftritt das war, aber da ist noch viel Luft nach Oben. Mit mehr Präsenz und Sicherheit könnte dies auch mit der Musik stimmig werden.

While on a trip to London I had the chance to visit a concert at The Lexington. It started with a band called Pink Grip, a 4 piece band from London. The music was pissed and aggressive and the voice of Sasha Cresdee (?) did fit to the sound. Unfortunately the performance reminded me of school bands…
Let me try to explain, it looked like she felt uncomfortable on stage and did not know what to do, kind of lost, singing (shouting) and in-between nipping on the drink and not being present while being on stage.
Don’t know how many gigs Pink Grip did already, but this can be improved.
