Sportfreunde Stiller

Die Sportfreunde Stiller haben mal eben so eine echte Bühne aufgebaut und darauf dann Ihr Konzert gezeigt. Etwas hart für die Jungs (Rüdiger Linhof + Peter Brugger + Florian Weber) aus Bayern war, dass gleichzeitig auch Fußball war, aber da muss man durch. This time a band from Germany here in Germany at the Hurricane open air festival: Sportfreunde Stiller. They had their own stage with them and Florian Weber, Peter Brugger and Rüdiger Linhof performed their loved indie rock spectacle for us lucky ones. XX 22.06.2012 Hurricane Festival Scheeßel


The XX

Aus England kommen Jamie Smith, Oliver Sim und Romy Madley Croft mit Ihrer Band namens The XX. Ruhige Musik, eher statische Bewegung und dazu noch Tageslicht, das war live nicht ganz so spannend. Die Musik gehört in Ruhe zuhause gehört oder wenigstens muss es dazu Dunkel sein. Der Highlight und der Aufschrei der Menge kam, als beim parallel laufenden Fußballspiel die deutsche Mannschaft ein Tor geschossen hat.

Coming from London/England The XX played the Hurricane Festival in the north of Germany. Now Romy Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith have their second album (coexist) out and it is rather quite music. Their gig was still during daylight and The XX do not make so much live action. Means for me it was all a bit static. The big rumor from the audience came during a song when the German soccer team shoot a goal at the European championship.

LaBrassBanda 22.06.2012 Hurricane Festival Scheeßel


LaBrassBanda

Ganz schönen Erfolg haben die Jungs von LaBrassBanda aus Übersee in Bayern (verdienterweise!). Machen jetzt richtig die Konzerthallen voll und auch hier beim Hurricane Festival gab es großen Andrang vor der Bühne. Das Auftreten von Stefan Dettl, Andreas Hofmeir, Manuel Winbeck, Oliver Wrage und Manuel da Coll ist ja irgendwie bayrisch bodenständig, sehr angenehm und mit der Sprache lässt es sich auch Sympathiepunkte holen: wer mich nicht versteht, scheißegal, tanzt mit uns!

The band LaBrassBanda comes from Bavaria in Germany and they play kind of still traditional Bavarian music with trumpet and trombone mixed with rock? Anyway they are getting quite popular in Germany and at the Hurricane Festival there were a lot of people in front of the stage to see La Brass Banda. And to cut a long story short, Manuel Winbeck, Andreas Hofmeir, Manuel da Coll, Stefan Dettl and Oliver Wrage did a good job this sunny day.

The Bronx 22.06.2012 Hurricane Festival Scheeßel


The Bronx

Aus Los Angeles Kalifornien kommt die Band The Bronx, was für ein schönes Namensspielchen…
Hier und heute waren The Bronx mit Hardcore unterwegs, ohne Mariachti Einlage. Guter Auftritt beim Hurricane Festival und Matt Caughthran hatte nicht nur sein Mirko gut im Griff, sondern auch die Menge vor der Bühne. Immer feste drauf, dafür steht The Bronx.

What a nice wordplay: a band called The Bronx coming from Los Angeles…
Anyway, the gig was intense and The Bronx performed a solid and good hardcore show. No Mariachti stuff, just The Bronx! Matt Caughthran and his colleagues did a good one here at the Hurricane Festival in Germany.

Mars Volta 22.06.2012 Hurricane Festival Scheeßel


The Mars Volta

Es wird Abend, das Wetter stimmt und auf der Green Stage beim Hurricane Festival kommen The Mars Volta auf die Bühne. Gegründet aus der Asche von At The Drive-In besteht die Band mehr oder weniger aus Cedric Bixler-Zavala und Omar Alfredo Rodriguez-Lopez. Ganz so mein Geschmack ist die Musik nicht, aber sehen und fotografieren wollte ich den Beginn des Konzertes schon. Der Beginn von Mars Volta war korrekt und es ging nicht lange, da hat sich der Sänger Cedric über die Absperrung zum Publikum begeben, so was kommt immer gut, ach genug geschrieben, einfach die The Mars Volta Konzertfotos hier anschauen!

7:15 pm at the Hurricane Festival in Germany, the weather is fine and The Mars Volta are taking the Green Stage. Mars Volta are more or less Omar Alfredo Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, who happen to be in At The Drive-In. The music of The Mars Volta is not really my cup of tea, but still I did not want to miss the beginning of the show – luckily; because I was able to get some nice concert photos of the band for you and could photograph Cedric while he came off stage and into the audience. Casper 22.06.2012 Hurricane Festival Scheeßel

Da war jetzt mal richtig was los, bei Casper auf der Blue Stage, viel jüngeres Volk war dabei. „Jetzt springen alle – alles wird perfekt, soooo perfekt!“ Benjamin Griffey alias Casper hatte seinen Teil vom Hurricane Festival im Griff und hey ich als nicht Rapper kann hier anmerken, kein Wunder hat der eine goldene Platte (XOXO) geholt, denn sein Auftritt hat schon Stimmung gemacht und das Publikum war richtig gut dabei.

Blue Stage – Hurricane Festival – Benjamin Griffey alias Casper – lots of people – rap meets? – so perfect – XOXO – concert pictures – sun – good vibrations!

Disco Ensemble 22.06.2012 Hurricane Festival Scheeßel


Disco Ensemble

Was sagt ein Albumtitel namens The Island of Disco Ensemble aus wenn die Band Disco Ensemble heißt? Tja, das kann ich Euch nicht beantworten, aber was ich Euch hier mit auf den Weg geben kann sind Konzertfotos von Disco Ensemble live beim Hurricane Festival! Die Jungs (Miikka Koivisto, Jussi Ylikoski, Lasse Lindfors, Mikko Hakila) aus Finnland haben auf der Red Stage gerockt und ich durfte sie da zum ersten Mal in echt erleben. Hat Spaß gemacht.

Come on, if you call your record The Island of Disco Ensemble and your band is called Disco Ensemble, what is the message behind? This I cannot tell you, but I can tell you that Disco Ensemble played at the Hurricane Festival in Germany and that here you are able to see some concert photos of this show. And the guys (Mikko Hakila, Lasse Lindfors, Miikka Koivisto, Jussi Ylikoski) from Finland did kick hard the Red Stage and I had fun seeing them the first time live.
