Als Vorband zu Black Rebel Motorcycle Club durften die Night Beats hier in München in der Muffathalle ran. Wie so oft (leider) waren mir die Night Beats unbekannt, aber ne Platte auf Suicide Squeeze ist ein gutes Zeichen.
Die Night Beats sind Kopf und Sänger und Gitarrist Danny Lee Blackwell, am Bass Kyrone Oak und Damien Llanes am Schlagzeug.
Die Musik wird oft als Psychedelic garage rock bezeichnet und ja, so irgendwie passt das. Die Vorband hat es meist nicht leicht, aber mir haben die Night Beats getaugt, ab und zu ein paar Gitarrenläufe zu viel, aber schon cooler, treibender Livesound der rockt.
Zwischendurch durfte dann auch Robert Been vom BRMC ran zum Unterstützen.
At the Muffathalle here in Munich the opening band for the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club was the Night Beats. Did not know them but having a record out on Suicide Squeeze is a statement. Danny Lee Blackwell is the singer and guitarist and mainly the band. On tour with him a great rhythm section: Damien Llanes on drums and Kyrone Oak playing the bass.
Their music is mostly described as psychedelic garage rock and after seeing them, yeah this fits. Sometimes a bit too much of this guitar playing for my taste, still a great pushing live sound rocking me. In between Robert Been from BRMC was joining them on stage. Yes, good choice and good show.
