Mission Of Burma 19.01.2012 Music Hall Of Williamsburg New York


Mission Of Burma

Mal wieder alte Helden, wobei ich glaube dass dieser Status eher in den USA gilt, denn in Europa sind Mission Of Burma aus Boston nicht wirklich bekannt (gewesen). Heute Abend spielten Roger Miller (Gitarre/Gesang), Clint Conley (Bass/Gesang), Peter Prescott (Schlagzeug) und Bob Weston (Tape Manipulator) in der Music Hall Of Williamsburg. Die Show war ohne viel Schnick Schnack, einfach nur 3 (4) nicht mehr ganz junge Kerle auf der Bühne, Ihre Instrumente und Ihre Songs. Fazit: Mission Of Burma haben gerockt!

This evening the NYC concert night life took me to the Music Hall Of Willemsburg. Mission Of Burma from Boston live on stage! Exactly the Mission Of Burma! And what Clint Conley, Roger Miller, Peter Prescott and Bob Weston performed was a good rock show. Three (4) older guys on stage, their instruments and their songs! Yeah! That’s when I reach for my camera…

Eula 19.01.2012 Music Hall Of Williamsburg New York


EULA

Band Nummer zwei an dem Abend in der Music Hall Of Williamsburg waren EULA. Die Kombo Eula kommt aus Brooklyn New York und hat somit eine Art Heimspiel gehabt. Die Frontfrau ist Alyse Lamb am Gesang und an der Gitarre, verstärkt von Jeffrey Maleri am Bass und Nathan Rose schlagzeugelt. Hat was von Punk, dieses Riot grrrl was mal unterwegs war und uptempo Rock, passt!

Second band on this evening at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn New York was EULA. And EULA are from Brooklyn so it was kind of a home match. The three piece is Alyse Lamb on guitar and vocals, Nathan Rose on drums and Jeffrey Maleri playing bass. What I could see and hear this evening was a punk, so called riot grrrl and uptempo rock show, yeah!

Static Jacks 19.01.2012 Music Hall Of Williamsburg New York


The Static Jacks

Nun konnte ich die Music Hall Of Williamsburg und neue Bands kennen lernen. Es begann mit der Vorband The Static Jacks. Diese kommen aus New Jersey und spielen eine Mischung aus Indie Rock, Punk und Garage. Irgendwo habe ich was von The Cribs als eine Art Vergleich gelesen. Wie auch immer, The Static Jacks sind Sänger Ian Devaney, Nick Brennan am Schlagzeug, Michael Sue-Poi an der Gitarre und Henry Kaye an der anderen Gitarre. Hat gerockt. Der Sänger gab gleich wirklich alles und die Band rockte gut los. Ein paar selbstgemalte Plakate zierten die Bühne und auch ein paar Pappschilder mit Ansagen wurde während der Lieder dem Publikum gezeigt.

This evening brought me a new venue (Music Hall Of Williamsburg) and new bands. It started with The Static Jacks from New Jersey. They played some kind of indie rock with roots in punk rock. There were some self-made pictures on stage and some signs were shown to the audience with some words… Good show. The Static Jacks are Ian Devaney, Michael Sue-Poi, Nick Brennan and Henry Kaye.

So ein Eingang sieht einfach verdammt cool aus! Nach großem Kino! Das war mein Konzert in der Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn New York am 19. Januar 2012:
The Static Jacks, gefolgt von Eula und dann der Headliner Mission Of Burma (auch wenn da was von Howler steht).

I just like these signs at concert venues; they make everything look so important! Cool and this was my concert at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg which is located in Brooklyn – New York. Nice place, with a gallery which gives a good sight from „above“. The lineup was The Static Jacks, Eula and Mission Of Burma.

New York City – Jan. 2012 bad CBGB

Da kam Rock The Cam zu spät, aber sehen wollte ich es trotzdem! 315 Bowery in Manhatten, hier war mal das CBGB und jetzt ist ein eher beschränkter Vintage Laden drinne: Clothing, Records, Audio. Naja, das Zeug braucht niemand wirklich und der Rundgang hat mich auch nicht wirklich glücklich gemacht. Zu spät halt! Außer einem madigen Gefühl gab es noch ein CBGB – Poster zum abfotografieren…


315-bowery CBGB

Too late but I wanted to see it anyway: 315 Bowery in Manhatten New York. Home of the famous CBGB, but not anymore! Now it holds a vintage store selling stuff you do not need (OK, stuff I do not need, but there seems to be a public for this). While walking through the place a maggoty feeling came up. Before getting out in the night a CBGB poster got photographed by me, not really the big jackpot thing…

Total irre, die Amis sind halt lösungsorientiert und dazu eine Dienstleistungsgesellschaft. Brauchst du Freiheit? Dann ruf doch mal an!
Das wäre damals in der DDR bestimmt gut angekommen, dann wäre der ganze Kohlaufwand nicht nötig gewesen…
