Da waren sie mal wieder: Imperial State Electric aus Schweden (na ja fast) mit neuem Album im Gepäck (All Through The Night) gab es die Möglichkeit die Jungs auf Tour zu erleben. Und Nicke Andersson, Dolf de Borst, Tobias Egge und Tomas Eriksson haben wieder die Rock-Show gebracht, welche ich auch erwartet habe: große Gesten, die Gitarre in der Luft, Windmühle, auf Knien, am Boden und auch einen heftigere Rocker als Dolf das Mikro übernommen hatte (Reptile – hat mir gut gefallen, denn es war irgendwie dreckiger Rock). Wer Rock will bekommt diesen mit Imperial State Electric und Nicke Andersson ist einfach ein Frontmann (nach mehr als 25 Jahre auf Tour…). Also keine wirkliche Überraschung beim Imperial State Electric Konzert im Backstage in München, aber das hatte ich auch nicht erwartet und gut dass ich mich hinbewegt hatte!
Here they are again: Imperial State Electric from (mostly) Sweden. As they just have released a new album (All Through The Night) there is the tour going on and luckily there was a stop in Munich at the Backstage. And what do you expect from Imperial State Electric? Nothing more and less than a good rock-concert and Nicke Andersson, Dolf de Borst, Tobias Egge and Tomas Eriksson delivered. Guitar in the air, windmill, on the knees, on the floor and ROCK. I really liked the dirtier punk rock number when Dolf took the mic. Thanks for coming around and glad that I went there to see Imperial State Electric, next time again.
Mal wieder kommt der Rock aus Schweden, als Vorband zu Imperial State Electric gab es die Factory Brains. Auch diese Schweden sind im Rock beheimatet und live hat mir das im Backstage in München ganz gut gefallen, was Factory Brains gezeigt haben.
And again Rock comes out of Sweden! The opener for Imperial State Electric has been Factory Brains. These Swedish guys are based in Rock as well and hey I liked what the Factory Brains were doing at the Backstage in Munich.
Ach was sind wir alle aufgeregt, Dag Nasty bewegen sich nach Europa! Den Auftritt im Backstage in München durfte Rock The Cam natürlich nicht verpassen und hier findest du die Fotos vom Dag Nasty Konzert. Neue 7“ Single gibt es auch (Cold Heart on Dischord Records produziert von Don Zientara und Ian MacKaye) und bei der Dag Nasty live Konzertparty stand die Gründungsmannschaft auf der Bühne: Shawn Brown, Brian Baker, Colin Sears und Roger Marbury. Gerne nochmals!
It took a while but Dag Nasty live in Europe! Rock The Cam was able to catch them at their show in Munich at the Backstage. A new 7” single on the way (cold heart) and a great show on stage, hits, I tell you the old (and new) nice shit! Dag Nasty performed great and it was following line-up: Roger Marbury, Colin Sears, Brian Baker and Shawn Brown. See those Dag Nasty concert pictures here!
Diese Band hatte ich noch nicht auf dem Schirm: Pears aus USA. Von der Musik her sage ich jetzt einfach mal die Fat Wreck Punkschiene, was ja an sich ganz gut ist, aber was noch besser war, das war der Auftritt! Schau dir die Pears Konzertfotos an, da ging richtig was im Backstage in München. Der Sänger machte mal keine Gefangenen und ist auch in der Luft unterwegs gewesen, sehr schön das Ganze. Pears sind vier und zwar: Jarret Nathan – Schlagzeug, Zach Quinn – am Mikro, Brian Pretus – Gitarre und Gesang und der Erich Goodyear – Bass.
Did not know this band before opening up for Dag Nasty in Munich at the Backstage: Pears. And hey what should I tell you? The music is let me describe it as Fatwreck Punk Rock, which is good, but it got better! Their gig was really powerful, take a look at the Pears live photos and you see, the singer does not slow down, full action portfolio on stage and jumps, and jumps are always good! Das war ja eine Freude, die Levellers hatten sich seit langem mal wieder live angekündigt. Gut gelaunt ins Backstage in München gegangen und siehe da, teilbestuhlt. Zu Beginn gab es den „Levellers“ Film A Curious Life, der viel und noch mehr aus der Geschichte der Band zeigt (sehr unterhaltsam). Und dann wurde kurz umgebaut und die Jungs kamen auf die Bühne, setzten sich nieder und das Akustikkonzert begann. Was soll ich schreiben, irgendwie nicht die jüngsten Männer auf der Bühne, irgendwie nicht die jüngsten Leute vor der Bühne, aber die Lieder, die haben einfach eine Kraft und ab ging die Zeitreise, dahin wo wir alle jünger waren. So blöde es auch klingt: die Energie und Magie der Musik! Das war ganz großes „Kino“! Ein super Programm bei dem die jetzt jungen Leute nicht mehr teilbestuhlt waren, sondern sich zum mehr oder weniger Tanzen aufmachten. Beim Rumschauen hatte nicht nur ich ein glücklich, dümmliches Grinsen im Gesicht. Hoffentlich bald wieder.
After a long time The Levellers made it to Munich and I went with a smile on my face to the Backstage seeing them perform. Before the show there was the Levellers’ film called A Curious Life showing a lot of their history and more (if you are into the band, really good to watch). After the film a little break and Mark Chadwick, Jeremy Cunningham, Jonathan Mark Sevink, Matt Savage, Charlie Heather and Simon Friend came on stage. Sitting down and here we go! The magic of Music: yes really, not the youngest people on stage, not the youngest people in front of the stage, but the songs kick in and it feels like back then. What a Beautiful Day with the Levellers.
