The Real McKenzies

Gute Laune mit The Real McKenzies. Ende Mai kamen The Real McKenzies aus Kanada ins beschauliche München und haben das Strom gerockt. Partyabend mit der Celtic-Punk Band (habe ich irgendwo gelesen und die Schublade Celtic-Punk trifft es sogar echt gut, man könnte natürlich aber auch über Folk-Punk sinnieren). Eine volle Bühne mit einem trinkenden Sänger (Paul McKenzie), Dudelsack, Gitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug plus flotte Musi für mein Spusi! Der Band und dem Publikum hat es Spaß gemacht und ich denke der Umsatz an alkoholischen Getränken war diesen Abend auch nicht schlecht.

On tour in Europe with a stop in Munich: The Real McKenzies from Vancouver Canada came around to rock the Strom. And hey, this was party! Party celtic punk night with Paul McKenzie and his boys. From the beginning to the end, the show was wonderful, fast songs, some mellow tunes, some stories in-between the songs and lots of Prost. Thanks Real McKenzies for this great concert night.

Beeswax 31.05.2017 Strom München


Beeswax

Da hat es mich mal wieder ins Strom in München verschlagen, denn da gab es The Real McKenzies aus Vancouver, Kanada. Davor durften aber Beeswax aus Krün, Bayern ran! Die Beeswax gibt es auch schon eine ganze Weile (seit 1998) und bestehen aus Josef Achner (Vocals, Drums), Hubert Pleyer (Bass) und Richard Zahler (Gitarre).
Alles in allem solide und ein Drummer der singt, immer wieder faszinierend wie das geht.

Rock The Cam went to see The Real Mc Kenzies live at Strom in Munich and the opener band were Beeswax! Beeswax are from Bavaria and the member list reads like this: Hubert Pleyer playing bass, Mr. guitar is Richard Zahler and drums + vocals are united in one person and that person is called Josef Achner. All right Punk Rock and always interesting how you can sing and play drums.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club 05.05.2010 Backstage München


Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Leah Shapiro

Ausverkauft: BRMC in München im Backstage Werk. Und Peter Hayes, Robert Levon Been habe mal wieder überzeugt. Neu dabei war Leah Shapiro die Nick Jago am Schlagzeug abgelöst hat. Nach der eher mäßigen Vorband gingen BRMC konzentriert zu Werke und starteten mit War Machine vom Beat The Devil’s Tattoo Album. Das Publikum ging gleich gut mit und auch Mama Taught Me Better wurde dankend angenommen. Bei Red Eyes And Tears war dann klar, hier geht jeder glücklich nach Hause. Weiter gab es dann die bekannte BRMC Mischung aus alten und neuen Lieder und langsamen und schnellen Stücken. Auch ein Pogues Cover (Dirty Old Town) in der Robert Akustik Version wurde präsentiert. Nach fast 2 Stunden war dann Ende. Fazit von Rock The Cam: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Konzerte sind immer gut, denn tolle Lieder, guter Liveeinsatz und auch eine gute auf die Musik abgestimmte (nicht überladene) Lightshow.

Sold out show at the Backstage in Munich: BRMC back in town beating the devil’s tattoo. Peter, Robert and Leah played an interesting show including songs from their new album and the older ones. A decent mix of fast and slow, hard and acoustic songs made this evening another great concert remembrance. After almost 2 hours everybody went home with a good feeling and the knowledge the entrance money was a great investment. Imperial State Electric 26.02.2017 Backstage München


Imperial State Electric

Da waren sie mal wieder: Imperial State Electric aus Schweden (na ja fast) mit neuem Album im Gepäck (All Through The Night) gab es die Möglichkeit die Jungs auf Tour zu erleben. Und Nicke Andersson, Dolf de Borst, Tobias Egge und Tomas Eriksson haben wieder die Rock-Show gebracht, welche ich auch erwartet habe: große Gesten, die Gitarre in der Luft, Windmühle, auf Knien, am Boden und auch einen heftigere Rocker als Dolf das Mikro übernommen hatte (Reptile – hat mir gut gefallen, denn es war irgendwie dreckiger Rock). Wer Rock will bekommt diesen mit Imperial State Electric und Nicke Andersson ist einfach ein Frontmann (nach mehr als 25 Jahre auf Tour…). Also keine wirkliche Überraschung beim Imperial State Electric Konzert im Backstage in München, aber das hatte ich auch nicht erwartet und gut dass ich mich hinbewegt hatte!

Here they are again: Imperial State Electric from (mostly) Sweden. As they just have released a new album (All Through The Night) there is the tour going on and luckily there was a stop in Munich at the Backstage. And what do you expect from Imperial State Electric? Nothing more and less than a good rock-concert and Nicke Andersson, Dolf de Borst, Tobias Egge and Tomas Eriksson delivered. Guitar in the air, windmill, on the knees, on the floor and ROCK. I really liked the dirtier punk rock number when Dolf took the mic. Thanks for coming around and glad that I went there to see Imperial State Electric, next time again.

Factory Brains

Mal wieder kommt der Rock aus Schweden, als Vorband zu Imperial State Electric gab es die Factory Brains. Auch diese Schweden sind im Rock beheimatet und live hat mir das im Backstage in München ganz gut gefallen, was Factory Brains gezeigt haben.

And again Rock comes out of Sweden! The opener for Imperial State Electric has been Factory Brains. These Swedish guys are based in Rock as well and hey I liked what the Factory Brains were doing at the Backstage in Munich.
