Slime 03.05.2014 Monsterbash München


Slime

Es war soweit und die Deutsch Punk Legende Slime begab sich auf die Bühne im Zenith beim Monster Bash Festival 2014 in München. Dort gab es die alten Hits und auch neuere Lieder, wobei bei mir der Nostalgiefaktor angeschlagen hat und mir die alten Nummern einfach taugen, was waren wir damals alle jung. Genug geschwafelt, Slime mit Nici, Dirk „Dicken“ Jora, Alex Schwers, Christian Mevs und Michael „Elf“ Mayer kamen gut an und konnten nicht nur die „Alten“ mit ihrem Auftritt entzücken.

If you talk about Punk Rock in Germany you need to talk about Slime. Around since ages and always political, they are the prototype here. And there were a lot of people wanting to see Dirk Jora, Michael Mayer, Alex Schwers, Nici and Christian Mevsat the Monsterbash in Munich – Alle gegen Alle!

The Menzingers 03.05.2014 Monsterbash München


The Menzingers

Jetzt ist die Halle schon voller und die Stimmung beim Monster Bash in München steigt weiter an. The Menzingers aus Scranton, Pennsylvania haben den Laden im Griff, kein Wunder sind sie mit Ihrer Epitaph Platte Rented World voll am Durchstarten. Das tun auch die ersten Leute hier und als „I don’t want to be an asshole anymore“ angestimmt wird haben Greg Barnett, Tom May, Eric Keen und Joe Godino endgültig gewonnen: der Mopp tobt und grölt, energiegeladenen Performance das hier.

The party level was rising further up and the location got crowded at the Monster Bash in Munich. On stage: The Menzingers from USA. They had a cheering audience and they knew what to do, I mean with a record like Rented World and the success to it, you better do. When Eric Keen, Joe Godino, Tom May and Greg Barnett started with „I don’t want to be an asshole anymore“ Munich went crazy. Thanks to The Menzingers for the good and energetic show.

The Lawrence Arms 03.05.2014 Monsterbash München


The Lawrence Arms

Nachdem die Platte Metropole doch ziemlich abgefeiert wurde (raus auf Epitaph) war ich schon mal gespannt auf The Lawrence Arms. Und die Herren Chris McCaughan, Neil Hennessy und Brendan Kelly waren gut. Lawrence Arms waren noch sehr früh im Monsterbash Festival Line-up dran, doch die erste Stimmung kam auf, gute Lieder, gutes Konzert.

After reading a lot about how good Metropole the new Lawrence Arms LP is (out on Epitaph) I was interested to see how they will be live. Although it was quite early at the Monsterbash Festival in Munich, Mr. Neil Hennessy, Mr. Brendan Kelly and Mr. Chris McCaughan did a good job. The Lawrence Arms: good songs and good concert.

Bayside 03.05.2014 Monsterbash München


Bayside

Die ersten Bilder vom Monsterbash Festival in München sind von Bayside. Diese spielten im Kesselhaus und Anthony Raneri und Mannen hatten es nicht einfach, es war wohl zu früh. Die Songs stimmen, die Band kann es live, aber es hat um die früher Uhrzeit einfach noch das „etwas“ Stimmung gefehlt. Egal, mit hat der Bayside Auftritt gefallen und hier gibt es die Bilder.

My first pictures from the Monsterbash Festival in Munich are from Bayside. They started the day at the Kesselhaus. Good songs and good performance but it was too early to make this live event Cult. Not to get me wrong, I liked what Anthony Raneri and the band were performing, but the moment was bad.

Mephiskapheles 04.04.2014 Churchill’s Pub Miami


Mephiskapheles

Man kann in Miami den Abend in South Beach verbringen und dem Show-off beiwohnen, man kann aber auch einfach mal in einen coolen Punk Rock Laden gehen und sich im Punk / Ska Fieber wiegen. Also ein wenig geschaut und dann Churchill’s Pub entdeckt (seit 1979), schön mit dem öffentlichen Bussystem hinbewegt und Spaß gehabt!
Ein einfacher, schlichter Laden, viele Bands an dem Abend und dann auch später viele Leute, ja ich muss auch erwähnen ein hoher Frauenanteil. Hat alles gepasst und als die Hauptband namens Mephiskapheles auf die Bühne kam, ging die Party noch einen Gang höher. Was Andre A. Worrell und seine Mannen gezeigt haben hat auch meine Füße zum Wippen gebracht (immer ein gutes Zeichen). Leider ist am Tag zuvor mein gutes Objektiv abhanden gekommen, das wäre leider nötig gewesen, egal die Bilder von Mephiskapheles sind halt leider nicht so toll, aber das Konzert war es.

Being a tourist in Miami, what to do in the evening? Yeah doing the show-off at South Beach or doing the Rock The Cam –off? You are right; there is a cool venue I have read about called Churchill’s Pub, serving Punk Rock and this kind of lifestyle since 1979. And there is Mephiskapheles and other bands playing. Heading there via public transportation (interesting…) I finally made it and hey, nice place and lots of cool bands – and not to forget, lots of women there. Good live party and when Andre A. Worrell and his Mephiskapheles gang entered the stage, the party went even a bit crazier. Thanks!

Saganaki Bomb Squad 04.04.2014 Churchill’s Pub Miami


Saganaki Bomb Squad

Wow, die Saganaki Bomb Squad waren die Vorband für den Hauptact Mephiskapheles und wow, die haben mich ja mal live richtig weggeblasen. Das war besser als gut! Der Sänger Morgan Landreth ging ja mal voll ab und die Band ging einfach mal mit. Richtig gute Laune was Saganaki Bomb Squad da in Churchill’s Pub in Miami gezeigt hat!

Yeah, Saganaki Bomb Squad has been the opener for the main act Mephiskapheles and yeah, they really brought this place to explode! This was a really good show! The singer Morgan Landreth went wild and the band just went with him. Really really enjoyed seeing Saganaki Bomb Squad live at Churchill’s Pub in Miami.

Murrieta 29.03.2014 Festival Of The Arts Tempe


Murrieta

Wenn du eigentlich nichts über/ von Murrieta weißt, dann geht es dir wie mir. Trotzdem bin ich dir einen Voraus, denn als ich in Tempe (Arizona) im Mill Avenue district unterwegs war, haben Murrieta auf dem Festival Of The Arts gespielt und ich durfte den folk-rock Klängen lauschen.

I did not know anything about Murrieta until the moment I was strolling the streets in Tempe (Mill Avenue district) during the Festival of the Arts and came to 7th street. There was a stage and the nice weather and the nice folk-rock songs made me watch Murrieta performing live on stage. Now look at the pix and remember their name: Murrieta.
