Rise Against 26.03.2011 Zenith München

Rise Against

It just needed the first tunes of the first song and Rise Against ruled this Saturday night. On there Endgame Tour the German dates in quite big venues were all sold out and the stop on Munich was at the Zenith. And Tim McIlrath, Brandon Barnes, Joe Principe and Zach Blair set the place on fire (what a phrase…). Good show with a mixture of old and new songs and about 80 minutes live Rise Against Rock performance. I guess next time in an even bigger hall?

Coliseum 26.03.2011 Zenith München

Coliseum

Saturday night at the Zenith in Munich: Coliseum from Kentucky were the opener at the sold out Rise Against show. And to tell the truth it was not bad but it was not good, I guess the place was just too big for them. See you again Coliseum, but please in a smaller location.

Puta Madre Brothers 08.03.2011 Laab München

Puta Madre Brothers

What a crazy bunch these Puta Madre Brothers or did you ever see some Australians dress up like Mexicans and selling self rolled cigarettes at their merchandise? The music is a mix including Mexican mariachi style with a bit of surf and garage rock in it and is live lots of fun! The crowd was amused and after the show I had to buy the 7” vinyl single, all because of the good live event.

Puta Madre Brothers 08.03.2011 Interview Renzo

Who knows about the Puta Madre Brothers? I didn’t until today when I went to see them live and afterwards I got hold of Renato Vacirca (Renzo) or Chocolate (that’s what he called himself at the moment I have asked him), seems to get a good silly interview, great. Three crazy ones from Australia playing a quite interesting music style with lots of Mexican influences, too much ozone…
What is written on the flyer and on the 7″ vinyl single? Three men – no mission!

Puta Madre Brothers

RTC: Who are you and what is your job in the band?
CHOCO: I am Chocolate from the Puta Madre Brothers and my job is singing and playing guitar and drums.
RTC: Is this your first tour in Europe?
CHOCO: Yes, we played France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
RTC: And how is it going?
CHOCO: Beyond!
RTC: Do you speak Spanish?
CHOCO: Yes in my own special way! With every drink it gets better.
RTC: Why this Mexican style?
CHOCO: Which Mexican style?
Good one back!
RTC: If you take the groupies, do you show them the “down under man” or the “Mexican Mariachi”?
CHOCO: The down under Mariachi.
RTC: What made you start making music?
CHOCO: My mother gave birth to me, the heartbeat. I heard it in the womb.
RTC: Let me know more about your mother, how does she describe your music of Puta Madre Brothers to her neighbours?
CHOCO: My son is the most fantastic boy in the world and his music is pure gold.
RTC: Can you live of your music?
CHOCO: No, we beg, we borrow and we steal.
RTC: Imagine you are god and you are able to set up a festival of your choice, name me the five headliners (even dead people or dissolved bands)?
CHOCO: – Ritchie Valens
– The Trechiotimie Choir
– Kylie, Michael + Elvis suspended in the air
-A lot of Japanese noise
– and some new cakes
RTC: Thanks and for saying goodbye do you have a message to the world out there?
CHOCO: Our music is massage (or message hehehe)
RTC: With happy finish?
CHOCO: Yeah!
RTC: Goodbye, have a good ongoing tour and here are the pictures of the Puta Madre Brothers show.

Cyanide Pills 05.03.2011 Epplehaus Tübingen

Cyanide Pills

Irgendwie bin ich an die Cyanide Pills 7” vinyl „Break It Up“ Single gekommen und dann habe ich gesehen, hey die sind ja auf Tour. Leider nix hier in München, also mich mal locker gemacht und ab ins Epplehaus nach Tübingen gefahren. 3 Bands 5€ Eintritt: gut!

I got their 7“vinyl and then I saw that the Cyanide Pills were on tour, unfortunately not in Munich. All right then, Saturday night disco night and on the road to the Epplehaus in Tübingen. Three bands for 5€ entrance, that is fair. Derby Dolls were good, Buck Brothers as well and Cyanide Pills rocked the place. While hanging around in the car on the highway I was thinking that it was a good decision and was worth it.
Yeah, and here you find a little Cyanide Pills Interview with Si and Alex

Buck Brothers 05.03.2011 Epplehaus Tübingen

Buck Brothers

Ghostbusters!

Nice surprise: Buck Brothers. They opened up for the Cyanide Pills at the Epplehaus in Tübingen, but could have been the headliner themselves. Buck Brothers are Craig Welsh, Dom -Becksi- Beckford and Andy Duke and played a good live set including “Deeply Shallow”, “She’s Red” and covers like “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker” or “Ghostbusters”. The next song is about German girls in skirts and boots and bikes and goes like this…!
