Doll Skin

Junge Mädels aus Phönix Arizona auf Europa Tour: Doll Skin.
Im Vorfeld reingehört und gedacht, da geht was! Also am Dienstagabend in den Keller Klub in Stuttgart gegangen und mich auf Doll Skin gefreut.
Meghan Herring, Alex Snowden, Nicole Rich und Sydney Dolezal sind Doll Skin und hey, kicken live richtig Arsch! Ein Mix aus Punk, Rock und Metalltouch und vier Girls die gut abgehen. Da kam richtig Energie rüber und mich hat es gerockt. Auch die Vier hatten Spaß und haben eine tolle Show geliefert. Im Anschluss dann noch eine CD (Manic Pixie Dream Girl auf EMP) gekauft (Vinyl war leider nicht mit auf der Tour dabei) und mit Glück gibt’s für dich später zu den Doll Skin Konzertbildern dann noch ein Interview. Manic Pixie Dream Tour halt!

Doll Skin from Phoenix Arizona first time on tour in Europe! I had the chance to see Doll Skin at the Keller Klub in Stuttgart. Came across this band on some music zine and while listening to some songs I thought: would be great to catch them live cause they surely will provide a good kick ass gig. And when Nicole Rich, Sydney Dolezal, Alex Snowden and Meghan Herring took the stage it was like this. At the beginning there was some tension in the air (calm before the storm) and then there was energy! Great show what Doll Skin put out paired with good music. Not really riot girls, not really Punk, not really pop, not really metal but a great mix of everything and damn did they rock! They had fun on stage, we had fun off stage, good vibes and sharp music, some covers (hey Fugazi is alive, although they are lying – they are not a patient boy, maybe a patient girl, hahaha). First time in Europe and if they keep on going like this, Rock The Cam will be there the next time again. My prediction, if they kick it like this and stick together they have a good chance to return in bigger venues!

Unfortunately they did not had any vinyl with them, so I took the Manic Pixie Dream Girl CD.

Gisela von Hinten 06.03.2018 Keller Klub Stuttgart

Unter der Woche ab in den Keller Klub in Stuttgart. Doll Skin aus Amerika waren die Hauptband und das Schwäbische Gewächs Gisela von Hinten durfte eröffnen. GvH spielen Deutsch Punk Rock, nicht spektakulär jedoch unterhaltsam. Ein paar Coverversionen von Punk Rock Klassikern und viel Text übers Saufen, na dann Prost wer darauf steht. Dazu noch Statements wie: Scheisse bleibt Scheisse, Arbeit bleibt Scheisse, Punk bleibt Punk. Genieße hier die Gisela von Hinten Konzertfotos.

During the week I went out to the Keller Klub in Stuttgart to see Doll Skin from USA. It was Gisela Von Hinten to open up and they are from the Stuttgart area. GvH do play German Punk Rock and in their fringing set some German punk classics are integrated. Sometimes good, sometimes mmmhh, so was my first Gisela Von Hinten show!

New Model Army 22.10.2016 LKA-Longhorn Stuttgart


New Model Army

Mist, ich konnte leider nicht beim New Model Army Konzert in München dabei sein und verpassen wollte ich die Winter Tour auch nicht.
Also schön den Samstag ausgesucht und den NMA gig in Stuttgart gebongt.
Leider wurde die Anreise ein klein wenig Horror: Vollsperrung und Ausleitung auf der A8. Mit Trip über Dörfer kam ich nach 4 1/2h endlich in Stuttgart an. Bis ich dann endlich vorne war und die Kamera zücken konnte, war das erste Lied schon vorbei. Kein guter Start, aber ich denke so ein paar New Model Army Bilder sind dann doch noch was geworden. Das Konzert im Longhorn an sich fand ich dann nicht ganz so stark wie vor drei Jahren, was aber vielleicht an meiner gereizten Stimmung lag…
Zu Beginn wurde viel von der Winter Platte dargeboten und nach einigen Liedern kamen auch ältere Hits zum Vorschein.
Hinten raus gab es dann mehrere Zugaben Blöcke und heim wollte keiner. Immer wieder eine Freude Justin Sullivan und seine Mannen live erleben zu dürfen.
Nach zum Glück nur 2h Heimfahrt dann müde ins Bett und bis zum nächsten New Model Army Event.

Could not make it to the New Model Army gig in Munich, but I did not wanted to miss the Winter tour. Decided to drive to Stuttgart and it was horror, highway got closed and it took me more than 4 ½ hours (traffic jam / driving round little villages…), when I finally made it to the LKA Longhorn, NMA was already on stage and the show was on. Still with being late and not having much time, I think some concert photos are alright and it is always a pleasure seeing Justin Sullivan and his gang.
Fortunately I made it home in 2h and see you next New Model Army show!
